Letter of Standing

Request a Letter of Standing

Pharmacy professionals may request a letter of standing to verify the pharmacy professional’s past or present registration status with the College of Pharmacy of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPNL).

The Letter of Standing will be sent directly to the recipient indicated on the application and include:

when the pharmacy professional was first registered with CPNL;
the pharmacy professional’s current registered status with CPNL, including when registration expired or expires;
whether the pharmacy professional is currently authorized to perform/participate in any authorized scopes of practice;
whether there are currently any terms, conditions, or limitations attached to the registration;
whether the pharmacy professional is currently, or has ever been, suspended or restricted with respect to the practice of pharmacy by CPNL;
whether there is a record of any disciplinary findings for the pharmacy professional; and
whether the pharmacy professional is currently the subject of any outstanding allegations or disciplinary proceedings.

Application

If you wish to have a letter of standing sent to a regulatory body, employer, or other party you can submit a request through CPNL’s online registrant portal.

Click Registrant Portal in the Portal Login menu at the top right of the webpage.
Log into your account.
Click the Document Request link in the side menu.
Follow the instructions to submit the request and pay the application fee.

Pharmacy professionals who were formerly registered with CPNL but do not currently have access to the CPNL Registrant Portal can contact CPNL at registration@cpnl.ca.

Requests are reviewed in the order they are submitted and may take 5-7 business days to process. Applicants will be notified by email once the request has been processed and the letter has been sent.
