Annual Pharmacy Licence Renewal

To maintain a pharmacy licence with the College of Pharmacy of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPNL), pharmacists-in-charge must complete the annual renewal process through the CPNL Pharmacy Portal.

Annual pharmacy licence renewal is available the third week of October each year and is due on or before November 30th. Late renewals are charged an additional fee.

2026 ANNUAL RENEWAL

CPNL’s annual renewal period to renew pharmacy licences for 2026 is now open. The deadline to renew is November 30, 2025. Late renewals will be charged an additional fee; for more information, please refer to the 2026 Schedule of Fees.

Renewals are not complete until full payment has been received. If paying by cheque, the cheque must be received by November 30, 2025.

Renewal Requirements

Pharmacists-in-charge must renew their pharmacist registration with CPNL before renewing the pharmacy licence.
All outstanding invoices must be paid.

Renewal

If you have completed the steps required before you renew, you may complete the renewal process through CPNL’s online pharmacy portal by following the steps below.

Click Pharmacy Portal in the Portal Login menu at the top right of the webpage.
Log into your account.
Click the Licence Application & Renewal button
Click the Start Renewal button next to the appropriate registration. Note: The Start Renewal button will only be visible once the annual renewal period has opened.
Follow the instructions to submit the application and pay the annual licensing fee.

The online renewal process can be saved after each step and returned for completion at a later time.

Once the online renewal process is completed, the receipt or unpaid invoice (if offline payment is selected) can be printed by clicking the Invoices & Receipts link in the side menu and clicking the Review or Review & Pay button next to the appropriate invoice.

The updated pharmacy licence certificate will be available once the renewal has been approved. The certificate can be downloaded by clicking the Certificates link in the side menu and clicking the Download Certificate button next to the appropriate licence.

Per the Pharmacy Regulations, 2024, pharmacists-in-charge are responsible for verifying that all pharmacy professionals on staff are appropriately registered with CPNL and should confirm that all relevant staff members have been issued a valid registration certificate before beginning their first shift in the pharmacy in the new year.
